Today I'll tell you what my family loves to have for breakfast.
Like most parents I to am busy in the morning, trying to get three kids to school. This can be a hectic time for me, so for the most part, my kids to get toast or cereal for breakfast.
However, there are days when I have had a party the day before and I have purchased too much bread so French Toast is made the next morning. Or when a cake needs buttermilk, I use up the leftover to make My Best Ever Pikelets. Or on days when I don't have bread or cereal and I look in the pantry and I find I only have flour, milk and eggs in the house, so I make crepes. These recipes are for those days.
Sundays are a fun breakfast day at our house. A day when new things can be tried. I really do enjoy a special Sunday breakfast.
At least once a week I try to make something they love.
School holidays are also a great time for me to get adventurous with breakfasts.
The recipes are for the most part simple, you just need to be organised.
So here are my favourite breakfast recipes that would be in my cookbook, if I wrote one.
This is a weekend dish for me. And it starts out as breakfast, but if any are leftover it becomes lunch to. It can be eaten hot, warm or at room temperature, but it is best eaten hot.
Simple and tasty, you have to try this.
Made in a blender, this takes less than 5 minutes to make, seriously, as I said, quick and easy.
When rushed for time we just have it in a mason jar and drink it like a smoothie.
This omelette is a favourite with my family, the flavour combination is just so good.
Give this a try soon, you won't be disappointed.
