Quick Apple Tarts
This has got to be the easiest recipe to make, it has 5 ingredients, all things I always have in my house.
This is my go to dessert when my family say "what's for dessert" and I have nothing prepared.
This is so easy my 10 year old makes this.
All you need is puff pastry, a few apples, some cinnamon, brown sugar and butter. Do I measure anything here, no. It is literally get a sheet of puff pastry, cut it up if you like, or leave it whole, top with some slices of apple, sprinkle on some cinnamon and brown sugar and add on a few pieces of chopped butter. That's it.
My favourite pastry brand is Careme as it is amazing, but use butter puff pastry, any brand, if you can't find Careme or find it too expensive.
This is one of those desserts you can make for 1 or you can make many.

The apples soften, and the middle gets a sweet sauce like consistency from the sugar and butter. And cinnamon and apples are just perfect together.

Makes 1 or makes many
1 sheet Butter Puff Pastry
2-3 Pink Lady Apples, cored, sliced thinly
Ground Cinnamon
Brown Sugar
Unsalted Butter, chopped into small pieces

Preheat oven to 200C/180C fan forced.
Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Individual rectangles: Cut a sheet of puff pastry into 6 rectangles.
Place each rectangle onto your prepared tray. Carefully score (but don't cut through to the bottom) each rectangle about 1/2cm from the edge, giving it a border, where the pastry will puff up and rise around the apples.
Arrange the apples, overlapping, in a single row, trying not to get the apples over the border.

Sprinkle 2 large pinches of brown sugar over the apples, about 1-2 teaspoons, this is to taste.
Sprinkle on some ground cinnamon, to taste.
Scatter over a few pieces of the butter.
Place in your preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the pastry has cooked and is crisp.

Individual Squares: Everything is the same as above, just cut the pastry into 4 squares. Here I placed the cinnamon and sugar under the apples, either way works.
Large Shared: Here you use an entire sheet of puff pastry. Score the pastry about 1cm from the edge. I also added only the cinnamon under the apples with the butter and sugar on top, this time.
Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
