What's Ella Drinking:
This is my drinks page. Some will be alcoholic, some will be non-alcoholic, but what they will be is what I like to make for myself, my family and my friends.
I have stated previously that I enjoy a glass of wine while I'm cooking, more so than when I'm actually eating. For me it makes cooking the evening meal a fun, relaxed occasion, especially when you are tired, as most of us get at the end of the day.
My family (as in my extended family) all water down there wines and drink wine out of water glasses, a Croatian thing. But I have one aunt that refuses to do this, she has always had wine out of a wine glass, this I have inherited I believe, from her, if one can inherit a habit.
My choice of wine is always sparkling white wine, it has a festive feel for me. Why wait for parties to enjoy a bit of bubbly. Having said that I don't do it everyday though, quite often I like to pour myself a glass of sparkling water in a wine glass, add some lemon or lime wedges and sip on that. For me putting sparkling water in a wine glass makes it special, sad but true, try it.
Every now and then though, I like to experiment with new cocktails I have found in a magazine or cookbook. They are great during the warmer months as most are quite refreshing, however, one must stop at one. They look amazing also, great for parties and it seems to be a great way to use up mint in our house.
