Sandwiches and Wraps
I love a good sandwich or wrap. Here I will give you great ideas on sandwich fillings, that my family love.
My Swiss Sandwich
This is a great sandwich that I first got to enjoy in Switzerland.
Use a french baguet, cut it to the size you would like, then halve lengthwise. Spread butter on the bottom half, spread mayonnaise on the top half. Top the bottom half with some ham, then salami, sliced gherkins, salad leaves, slices of cheese like jarlsberg, some hard boiled eggs, season with salt and pepper. Place on the top half of the baguette. ENJOY! |
Smoked Salmon Wrap
Use 2 pieces of mountain bread. Spread mountain bread with crème fraiche. Add 2-3 slices of smoked salmon down the middle. Season with a sprinkle of salt and plenty of pepper. Sprinkle with 1 sliced spring onion and some chives. Add as much snow pea sprouts down the centre as you like. Top with some lettuce leaves. Wrap up tightly. This is currently my favourite sandwich.

BLT
This is a family favourite.
Fry 2-3 rashers bacon, in a small amount of oil, until cooked but still soft, I don't like it crispy for this. Slice hamburger roll in half, but not all the way through. Spread some mayonnaise on the bottom half of the roll. Add the bacon and some thinly sliced tomato. Season with salt and pepper. Top with some lettuce leaves. My kids love this for school lunch. ENJOY! To turn a BLT into a BLAT, add some avocado to the sandwich. |
Turkey Sandwich

Slice a hamburger roll in half.
Spread one half with 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Spread the other half with 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard.
Top the mayonnaise with 3 slices roast turkey, 1/2 an avocado, green salad leaves, bean sprouts, 1 slice Jarslberg cheese and 2 slices tomato. Season with salt and pepper.

Prosciutto, Tomato, Basil and Bocconcini Roll

Slice a roll in half, but not all the way through. Place 4 or 5 basil leaves on one half of your roll. Top with 3-4 slices of prosciutto. Halve 4 baby bocconcini, scatter over the prosciutto. Top with 3-4 slices tomato. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Tuna and Olive Baguettes
One of my personal absolute favourite sandwiches.
Use a french baguet, cut it to the size you would like, then halve lengthwise, without cutting all the way through. Spread cut sides of bread with mayonnaise. Sandwich tuna (in oil, drained, flaked), halved pitted kalamata olives, sliced tomato, sliced onion, sliced cucumber and torn basil leaves. Season with salt and pepper. ENJOY! |
